OTHER PERSONNEL IT
PERSONNEL Every
organisation with computers needs IT people. They are not necessarily
programmers or engineers using special programs but the maintenance
staff who fix day-to-day problems eg. computer ‘crashes’, virus
infections etc.. MANAGEMENT
PERSONNEL Ideally
management should look after the welfare of the engineers and scientists
under their charge so that they can work effectively and efficiently,
unhindered by factors such as civil service protocols or office resource
distribution. FINANCE
PERSONNEL The
role of the accountant is well known, but it is necessary to optimise
the number of accounting staff responsible for aspects such as the
payroll etc.. Staff from external accounting firms command four or five
times the average hourly rate of an engineers and should be used
sparingly. LEGAL
PERSONNEL Contractual laws for engineering projects can be elaborate. However, like accountants, lawyers cost more than engineers so should not be overused. |
