EDUCATION
Though, in general, the Indian education system can be world-class, in terms of engineering education reform is required. Only if students are taught about - or at the very least made aware of - modern standards, techniques and theories at this stage can they take this into industry and beyond. There is also a need in India for successful engineers to be recognised by a status similar to the UK's system of chartered professionals. Meanwhile, technical staff should not be forgotten: indeed these essential personnel should be elevated to positions of greater responsibility. In this way industry can benefit from the workforce's co-operation rather than its dissent. |
